Our Story
In early 1991, three partners got together to build an automotive recycling business. We had four employees and a small office. If you wanted your part delivered you had to live close or pay high freight costs, and we were constantly trying to build our inventory.
Now, we have 20 employees, over 200,000 parts in inventory, and a delivery network through QRP Midwest that spans some 500 miles with daily service to 8 states. We are proud of the work we do and strive every day to serve our customers better by continually adding inventory.
Our business has utilized a computerized inventory system since day one. This allows us to know exactly what we have and find it quickly for you. Additionally, many of our sales staff have been in the industry their entire careers and have a vast amount of knowledge in auto parts and recyclable autos.
The future has many exciting things in store and we want to thank our customers for their continued business.
What is a rebuilder?
A rebuilder is a vehicle that has been damaged in a wreck or flood, or sometimes just recovered from a car thief. It makes sense in certain situations to sell the car part by part, but in the case of the rebuilder, it is wiser to fix the unit so that it can drive again. These vehicles usually sustain minimal damage and will drive like new again with the proper care, while saving the driver thousands of dollars off a new or used car, truck or SUV.
How Does it Become Driveable?
At first glance some rebuilders may look like a lost cause, but these cosmetic problems can be fixed. Your primary concern is safety. Choosing a good frame and body shop will ensure that the vehicle is fixed to industry standards of safety and drivability. Unsure of where to take your rebuilder? Let Mott Auto help! We have been helping people fix these vehicles for years now, and know how to get it done right. After your car is ready, simply take it for a quick inspection at the Highway Patrol. After approval, you will then be able to get a Prior Salvage title.
Prior Salvage Title? Isn't that Bad?
Prior Salvage cars can be problematic if the seller is dishonest by trying to hide the origin of the vehicle. Buying a wrecked vehicle from us and fixing it yourself means you know what was wrong, and what steps were done to correct it. How often do you have a specialist rebuild the used car from the lot? How can you assure the quality of repairs done on that car in the past? With Mott Auto, you know what your car is 'made of.'
What about Resale Value?
Prior salvage cars are cheaper than their good title counterparts. You can expect to get a lower resale value if you rebuild a car. But that is where the bad news ends—these vehicles cost you so much less at the outset, it makes up the difference. Many of our most successful customers make a living buying our rebuilders and fixing them for profit.
